You'll be immersed in a community of people learning, practicing, and applying Nonviolent Communication from the moment you sign up.

Each of CNVC's IITs are hosted in different countries and languages in effort to expand their reach for all who wish to experience the depth of NVC and connect with a growing community of passionate learners and practitioners.

The Journey Towards NVC Certification

Online Training Group May 14th 2025 til October 28th 2026

Description:

Are you on the path of learning, integrating and sharing NVC with others?

Would you like to learn and practice in a group of people from around the world - from Asia over Africa and Europe to North- and South America?

This program is a fully online 18 month program offered by LIVKOM. The programs curriculum is broken down into three six-month semesters:

1) From learning and knowing the elements of NVC, to integrating and living NVC

2) From living NVC in all my thinking, speaking and acting in daily life, to sharing NVC with others

3) Sharing NVC with others while caring for your own resources, and continue learning in a warm, supportive community.

It will cover a majority of what current CNVC certification candidates need to learn on their path toward certification. This training is hands-on practice of more than 50 topics within the NVC curriculum, for example Spirituality and Money.

As we face atrocities and huge shifts around the world, the power of coming together and growing as a community is evident to us at NVC Rising.

This is a core part of our intention for the "Rising for Life" convention in Spain : to both build and strengthen our community while we are there, so we can become a resource for each other in the times ahead, and receive tools and deep inspiration to cultivate nonviolence-centered, strong communities within our local areas when we return home.

Together, we will ask these questions:

How can I help build and strengthen my local nonviolence community where I live?

What will make the community resilient?

How can I matter in these times we are facing?

Nonviolent Communication and Teamwork: How NVC Builds Collaboration and Buy-In

Introduction — The big picture

Imagine any of humanity’s remarkable accomplishments — from the Great Wall to landing on the moon to the creation of the World Wide Web — and then ask yourself which was created solely by one single individual. The answer is none.

Let us consider even an extreme example: the creation of the light bulb. The popular myth is that Thomas Alva Edison toiling alone tried thousands of materials before landing on tungsten. What this version of history leaves out is all the people who helped him source the materials, those who produced the glass and the wires he used, and the immense teamwork required to take an idea from patent to mass production to widespread market adoption.

The point is that any great accomplishment — and most little ones — require a team of people working together effectively...

The essence of Nonviolent Communication. To create connection between people so that everybody’s needs get met and they get met through compassionate giving where people willingly want to give to one another. So, whether that is sales or if I’m an administrator in a company and an employee is behaving in a way I don’t like, my objective in using Nonviolent Communication is not to get them to behave. It’s to create a quality of connection necessary for everybody’s needs to get met.

NVC Youth Residential Workshop in Mindanao

Empower young people by supporting this event to equip them with the skills, processes, and framework of Nonviolent Communication

An NVC Youth Residential Workshop is scheduled for May 9-11, 2025, in Mindanao. The goal of this residential workshop is to empower young people by equipping them with the skills, processes, and framework of Nonviolent Communication, and to integrate these learnings into their value formation. In doing so, they will learn to speak and listen from the heart, fostering deeper connections with themselves and others.

We are expecting 35-50 participants, and hope that this workshop will create a space for them to come together, learn from one another, and grow as compassionate individuals.

To make this possible, we are reaching out to kindly request your support through fundraising. Your generous contributions will help subsidize the board and lodging for participants who cannot afford it, as well as cover the logistics of the event. Any amount you can contribute will be deeply appreciated and will make a significant difference in bringing this vision to life.

The Relationship Foundation

Help Underserved Schools with Nonviolent Communication

The Relationship Foundation is a small nonprofit with a big vision, making an impact in Social and Emotional Learning by introducing Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

Nonviolent Communication is a practice of expressing one’s needs and feelings without blame or judgment and listening empathically.

Teachers have commented that using NVC in the classroom has improved student behavior and academics. Another teacher said, “in my 20 years of teaching, I have never seen anything like this.”

Ten underserved schools have requested the curriculum and training sessions for their students and teachers. Your donation will help provide much-needed training sessions and curricula for underserved schools.

Forget About Being Nice

Nonviolent Communication does not teach people to be nice. On the contrary, we empower others to ask for what they want in ways that are more likely be heard and respected. I used to have an image in my head of what nice looked like. It was saying “OK” through clenched teeth. To me, nice meant doing what someone else wanted at my expense. I thought I should be nice. Indeed, I believed that if I didn’t consider your needs to be more important than mine, I was being selfish. Now I think it is selfish not to consider my own needs. If I do not value myself, I do not value my relationships. It is impossible for two people to enjoy a relationship if one of them is miserable. So forget about being nice. Instead, consider connecting to the needs of everyone you are in relationship with. Do this to meet your own needs for respect, love, connection, and intimacy.

Be aware today of how your relationships suffer when you are not present for yourself.
